Battle Creek's Binder Park Zoo to host Reptile Weekend

BATTLE CREEK -- Squirmy snakes, scaly lizards and slothful turtles will be in the spotlight for the 26th annual Reptile Weekend, Aug. 1-2 at Binder Park Zoo in Battle Creek.
The event, in conjunction with the Michigan Society of Herpetologists, is a weekend of hands-on encounters with more than 100 different reptiles and amphibians from around the world. This year's event will feature three of the world's largest snakes: the anaconda, Burmese python and the reticulated python. Guests also will see the alligator snapping turtle, monitor lizards and various species of frogs.
Hours of the event are 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Aug. 1 and 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Aug. 2. It's included in regular zoo admission.
