I got him last week. He's only 4 inches long, so it will be a couple of months before I can put him with my adults.

Beautiful!! I have one Golden too, but the gills not are so red. *-*

Hey that's a great looking Golden and nice photo too! Lucky you!

Regards Neil

Thanks! I got him from Michael Shrom :)

Can't wait to find out it's gender. I already have a male and a female, so either way it will be breedable. But I'm hoping it's a female so that it will be easy to tell who the parent is.

Either way, hopefully I'll get some golden babies out of the mix!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
