Default Cloudy white tank water

I set a tank up (60 ltr) with childrens play sand which I cleaned thoroughly and my Tetratrec IN600 filter. I had cleaned all the glass of the tank about three days prior to filling it with water (which was very clear). Is it normal that my tank water is now quite cloudy (white not green cloudy) and will it disappear over the next few days? I set it up on Tuesday evening and it is now Thursday and I can't see any improvement.

Sounds like you didn't clean the sand quite well enough.

Are you cycling the tank?

It will most likely be from the sand, even if you wash it 40 million times it still seems to be dirty haha! This will settle after a few days so you cant see it, then through the weekly water changes should eventually disappear altogether.

If your cycling the tank it could also possibly be a bacterial bloom which again should sort itself out as it goes along

I'm not cycling the tank yet so it must have been the sand. I'll keep patient and hopefully the water changes will sort it. Thanks for the replies.
