On the fact the mealworms are cannibalistic, I've separated the stages into different containers.

Question: How do you separate the eggs/baby mealworm from the adult's bran?
I tried sifting but half way through I noticed tiny mealworms crawling through the frass, so I decided not to risk throwing it out.

I also don't want to risk damaging/throwing out eggs

When the beetles hatch, seperate them into a new containers with at least 3 inches of substrate.

I used to sift the adults to a clean substrate every other week or so. Because they eat the eggs.
This way the 'old' substrate would contain 2 weeks of eggs, and maybe some very small larvae.
