Default Young salamander lover

Hello everybody!
I'm Thijs, 12 years, from Belgium.
I'm passionate about all animals, but
especially true salamanders.
My first touch with salamanders was in my grandmother's garden,
i was like 6 or 7 years old and i found an alpine newt at her pond.
That animal fascinated me so much that i put it in a container to observate him, of course
i placed him after a few hours back at the place i catched him.
From that moment salamanders were my favorite animal (still actually).
After that i was searching for salamnders and newts all the time at the creek behind her

house. I found a few sp. over there;
Lissotriton helveticus, Lissotriton vulgaris and Ichthyosaura alpestris.
And once i bring a salamander home o, to my great regret he died almost immediately. I was still young so i do not know that it was bad and illigal.
Now i'm old enough to know that its not good and bad for the fauna and flora over here.
I also went often with my parents to Austria. In Austria are alot of alpine salamanders and alpine newts so if i'm there i search for them all the time.
Now i have a trio of s.a.a. , of course CB, from 2015.
I really want some more salamandra sp. but my parents d'ont want that (for now).
So that is my story.
Sorry for my englisch, i'm still a kid
and I speak Dutch at home.

Greatings from Belgium!
Thijs

Welcome to the forum! I got sucked into the hobby myself by falling in love with the cute little faces of the wild newts that are found in this area . Good luck!
