Hi there new to this site. I got my axolotl from a lady the other day he is 4 years old and she has been feeding him a cube of frozen bloodworm twice a day. But from research I've done apparently earthworms are better for them. I was wondering are earthworms from our local fishing tackle shop OK for lottie to eat?
Also is twice a day too much as from what I researched some people only feed every other day:-/ also is it OK for lottie to eat the bloodworm as a frozen cube as I've red contradicting things about this. He does hand feed as soon as I hold the cube of frozen blood worm in he takes the lot whole still frozen:-/
Sorry for all the questions and thanks in advance for you answers :)

Frozen food must be defrosted before feeding. Worms are best, I suggest you order from Yorkshire Worms - good worms at reasonable prices.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
