As you can see by the title my point here is about the fact that my axolotl is unusually calm and rarely shows signs of stress.
We recently had a 38 degree Celsius day. With the ceiling fan and aquarium fans on high, ice packs in ziplock bags floating in the tank and the lid open for surface movement, Bean's tank got to and remained at 20.
I was stressing like a fruit loop all day but Bean was completely fine about the raise in temp. Normally his tank is at 16 degrees because my room is cool. This was his first ever hot day -first ever spring day for him too- but he showed absolutely no stress whatsoever.
The only time he ever curled his gils and tail out of "stress" was when he had his first earthworm when he was 10cm long. He will also happily sit out in the open of his tank (basically ignoring his hides all together) and never swims away or hides from fast movement or vibrations -he's recently made friends with the cat too who'll swipe at him through the glass.
I'm wondering if I should be worried? and if anyone else can share some odd axolotl behaviour with me. I'm a first timer with these guys and I'm wondering if I'm doing alright.
