Default Does anyone know what this is?

Hello everyone. I found a gel like bunch of eggs and I assumed they were either from a salamander or a newt. They were in my plant pot. I live in California and live within a few feet from a stream. Click image for larger version

Can you get a close up photo please? How big is it? Do you think itís orgsnic? Intriguing.
My first thoughts were slug eggs or maybe even that water retaining gel they put in growing media.
