Hi! My name is Dawn I am a mother of 4 girls. I just a few months ago seen my first Axolotl and fell in love. I now am the proud owner of 4 of them. I also have a fire belly toad 2 Australian tree frogs and America tree frog 2 dogs and one cat plus my husband is very big in to fish. Thanks for having me. Can’t wait to get to know everyone better

Welcome! I have made many really good friends from this forum, whom I have ended up meeting in real life and gone on vacations with...some of my best friends.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
