Eastern newt prob

recently purchased two eastern red spotted newts and one has a medium size black blotch on its back- looks like it may be some sort of wound or disease possibly? after searching all the archives here i only found one similar post, but of the two replies neither knew what it was or a possible treatment, and that newt died. anyone have any ideas? should i treat with bactine? i will try to get a pic soon-thanks

Please post a photo if you can. Is the newt staying in water or on land? Any change since you posted? Newly-purchased eastern newts do not have a great reputation for hardiness, I'm sorry to say.
