I just wanted to share some pictures of my little tadsies.

I circled them in red. (On the computer, not on the tank.

I just fed them, too. You can see the food. I'm feeding them on sinking tadpole pellets, ground tropical fish food, crushed lettuce, freeze-dried bloodworms, crumbled-up dried mealworms, blue-green algae powder, and it's all mixed over with a vitamin powder for small amphibians. Amazing what you can fit into a serving with the diameter of a pencil eraser.

(That's a thermometer anchor hooked on that suction cup. They seem to like sitting on it, and on the thermometer, too. I've no idea why...

I just love my little guys.

how did you know when your Fire Bellies were ready to breed? mine are putting off this slimy like secretion on the belly and underside. And then one gets on the other ones back in the water for like an hour one is bigger that the other(fatter) but no barking noises they stay in the Amplexus stage but no eggs or babies, can you give me some tips on how to breed them and then what to do after wards? Can you please email me or reply back at gregorychapparosa@yahoo.com or this forum?

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
