Does anyone know the history of London Zoos bunch of wild types?
Are they Wildcaught?
I know the biggest they have there is about 14 inches, I will endevour to post piccys later on
I also know they are quite old by going on the scaring and general bumpyness of there skin is this a reliable way to "age" them??

i wouldnt of thought the bumpiness of the skin is a good indicator of age my youngest has the bumpiest skin he isnt fully rown yet scars only show you how much they have been picked on not how ld they are when they pass adult size there is no real way to age them

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
