Hagrid has been of colour last 3 days.
Thing is i cant work out why.
Temp is 14c,
Water parameters are good.
Does not show signs of fungal infection,
But has a curled tail, and on a massie float issue,
She has been pooing gravel for a couple of weeks, last owners had her on gravel/me bare botton tank.
Could it be she is just tried and needs a rest, from all the gravel she has been pooing,
I know this sounds stupid /but cant think of anyother reasons.
She as well as her boyfriend norman both eat well/every second /third day,
With mainly earth worms/but blood worms and meal worms with there head cut of as a treat.
Norman is just dandy/but missing hagrid like crazy,LOL,
I PLACED HER IN THE FRIDGE LAST NIGHT AS SHE WAS SO LIFELESS,
I did a water change just then and she does not seem anybetter or worse,
I am going to keep her off food /and in the fridge for about a week to see if she improves,
Have anyone of you very knowledge axie loves out there have a clue what might be wrong with her,
anyadvice is very very welcome,
thanks the greenhorn
catherine.

Hi Catherine,

It sounds like you are doing everything right. I think you have chosen the best course of action.

Good Luck

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
