Hey sorry for the short comment with the photo i was in a rush to get out...

I am talking about the small red pimple looking spot on the left side of my white axolotl, my spotty one is just camera happy:D

It seams like the nostril:confused:

Thanks again

It does look like the nostril, but no idea why it looks red..maybe it got caught by the other one scrabbling for food. I'd keep an eye on it but suspect it will clear up by its self.
However...... your stones in the tank are more likely to cause a problem. Axolotl are rather prone to gulping in their food...and what ever my be close by too, stones that size can get caught in their stomach and cause big problems.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
