hey :)
i just resently bought a breeding pair of axolotals and im having trouble on figureing out where to post something on a question i have about them eating, i have been looking after them at work and have had no trouble but now their home their not eating at all and are stressed HELP!! lol

Hi,
it could just be a settling period, they are more than likely stressed from the move.
Make sure their water quality is good, the water flow from the filter is slow and they have plenty of hidey holes, offer them some live food if possible as this is more stimulating for them.
Providing they are cool, dark and undisturbed for a while they should settle down.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
