A BIG thank you to everyone for their advise & assistance. My 12yo daughter Chelsea and I are new here. We have had our 3 Axolotls for 1 month now & over the weekend changed our substrate from pebbles to sand. Chelsea wanted to let everyone know that Smiley, Sunshine & Midnight are all back in their home and doing well.

Glad we could help. In repayment, we demand pictures! :)

Hi Kaysie

We are just waiting on Chelsea's membership to be approved & then when she is back at my place in 2 weeks we will take some pictures and put them up. She is very excited about it. She spent a couple of hours looking around the site over the weekend and is looking forward to being an active member.

Thank you for all your help

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
