Hi all,

These are some pics of my tank and axolotls. I call my tank Mt Olympus due to the centrepiece cave. There is the ring of prayers to the right and the sanctuary of peace on the left. The leucistic one is called Zeus, the wildtype is Hera, the axanthic albino is Aphrodite and the skinny, shrunken gilled gold albino is apollo. You can see some of the horrid mini snails in the pic. The melanoid one (Eros) is currently in another new tank im setting up so not in the pic.

Cheers

I love Mt Olympus!!! Your greek-mythologised axies are very cute!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
