Hello everyone,
I recently moved to Albany, NY and as some of you may have heard we had a massive blackout last week. Sadly I was not around at the time and half my street had power so I was under the assumption that I did as well. I did not however and this caused my home to drop down to very low temperatures and resulted in the death of my loved paddle tail newt.
Does anyone know anywhere in the Albany area that might sell newt's or even an axolotl. And yes I know I can find axolotl's on the site but it would be nice to find a store that had them and/or newts
Thanks for any help

They have paddletails down here where I live. It's about 2 hours, though; 1 1/2 if you drive like my brother (maniac).

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
