I have a Parameso, and i was wondering what the going rate is for this species? I bought him at Petsmart for $10, which I considered a bargain. What does everyone else pay on an average?

Many thanks!

I don't think thats expensive. That might be the standard price where your at. Over here the cost less. I remember paying $6 each for acouple of them. Atleast you can purchase them where u are, alot of people can't buy these animals at petstores like you and me. I guess you can say anytime you can purchase a nice healthy newt/salamander from a petstore and it didn't cost a fortune then you got a deal.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
