Hello everyone,

I have just bought my first Axie and i'm not sure if he's ok. I have ordered him online and the day he was supposed to be delivered he spent in a box (the whole day) as the stiupid delivery people could not find the rode i live on
So anyway when i put him in his tank i noticed that one of his gills was curled forward. The rest of them seem to be fine (at least to me they do) but this one gill just says curled and i've had him for over a week now. Is this normal???
I would be really grateful for some feedback.

Thanks :)

My axolotls' gills stayed a bit curled for a couple of weeks until they finally settled in. He's probably still getting used to his surroundings. :)

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
