Hi,

Thought i would share some pics of my axolotls take about a month ago and ment to post them up!

I have Lexi she has a lump on her eye,her previous owner took her to the vet and the vet told him she was fine it does not effect her in any way she is the greediest when it comes to feeding, lol

GLC is my golden Albino i posted a thread earlier regarding how he was treated but is now on the road to recovery.

Phantom is my black axolotl who is the most engergetic one from the bunch.

I also have my 4 baby lecustics ive only thought of one name so far and its bob,for the one with the longest gills he reminds my of sideshow bob from the simpsons,

Any way hope you like my pics :D

Greedy kids!
I think earthworms are much easier to feed than bloodworm. How big are your axies?

Hi,

I do feed them worms but some are fussy and dont take them all the time.

I do try to mix up their diet as much as i can.

I would need to get a ruler, lol i think lexi is like 9-10 inches.

GLC 10-11 Inches.

Phantom is like 7-8

Babies are 6 i think

They're all adorable - Lexi looks a little bit like a pirate with an eyepatch lol.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
