Here is some pics of my group of axolotls. I had them out of the tank today for a move and snapped a few quick pics. Some are from Michael Shrom and the rest are local purchase. There is a wild type GFP in there as well. Only one made it out of the shipment last year:cry: . For Size comparison the largest is 11".

Wow! That's a lot of axolotls! They all look very healthy, what size tank(s) do you keep them in?

Sorry for the late reply. They are currently all i a 75 gallon. I know some people say that is overcrowding but it works fine for me. There has not been so much as a nipped tail in my tanks. I may upgrade them to my 150 gallon later on. That is if I get more Axolotls to fill it with:happy: and I always have my 360 gallon if my addiction gets out of hand lol

When you have a fish tank that weighs over a ton...I think your addiction has already gotten out of hand. Just kidding, but I am certainly suprised that 10 Axies get a long in only a 75 gallon tank. Do you get eggs a lot?

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
