Heres Freddie (the Gold) still not sure if he's a boy or girl yet!

And all 3 lined up for their photo shoot!
Finley is the leucistic hes male and Florence is the wild she also seems to be a boy lol.
They are all one year old.

They're gorgeous, Mel! Florence has such a nice dark color (oh, sorry, colour...better?;) ) Flo looks female to me too. She does have that rounded shape seemingly.

They are all wonderful - thanks for sharing!

Sorry to hear about the babies, hope you keep us posted on the 4. This one has really interesting color.

More eggs?! What is it about the golds? They seem to be egg laying beasts! Shoegal's just laid more, now Fred, again. I think I need to have a talk with my gold, Nefertiti - or maybe my male, Sphynx! :D

Thanks guys. I only have one Fred baby left now. But the new eggs are hatching away!

Florence is still very chubby but Finley has stopped dropping his stuff around the tank at the min so I doubt there will be any little Fin-Flos any time soon.

Had a mini heatwave here (well a bit of sun for a few days, we dont get much lol)
Big tank went up to 22-24!! So I ice bottled. But am now considering getting some adult sized tubs for fridging if it gets like it again this year.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
