Re: My gradlottie, still in egg

wow, that looks amazing.
do you only have 6 left through choice?
To be fair no one called fred should be spawning ever! You deffinatly need to give her a new name, imagine if every one started calling you fred!

Yeah i sold all the others and let the adults eat some.
I'm thinking she can be Frederika or something lol. Although when i said this the other day my 4 year old told me that it was a naughty word!
Wait til Florence becomes a daddy hahaha. Might call him Lawrence lol.

I wouldn't mind being called Fred.....

Fred....i mean Mel

Oh wow that is just too cute for words!

I have a sex changing axie too lol my Oscar definitely seems to be female as is Rose so i guess there'll be no babies in their tank!

Good luck with your babies, i cant wait to see more pics as they grow even tho i know it will make me want more of my own!

hey
i have a axie that did that as well ....i thought we had a girl and now i think we have a boy......it must be something in the water....

Haha I think i knew Freddie was a girl really from a while back but i had Florence and Freddie since they were about 2- 3 inches so it was wishful thinking when i named them.

Now hatched!

Congratulations, Mel! Looks like a beautiful little wildtype!

Have they all hatched now? About to get very busy at your house! Good luck! ;)

I have only kept 7 including the twins. As I already have 22 larvae and 10 juvies from other batches of eggs (not from my adults)

So far 3 have hatched....

:D

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
