What a great gift!! Hey, all you husbands/boyfriends out there, take notes!!! Mother's Day is coming too!

Jackie, I love the colors, great addition to your family!

Congrats on the anniversary!

I think my mom would disown me if I surprised her with an Axolotl. I think I'll stick to flowers.

Well...Your wife likes axolotls...She's their mom ;)

Ooh, good idea! My boyfriend always gets me Mother's Day presents "from the cat"; I'll have to start dropping hints!

I'm only 24...so not married yet...but I think my girlfriend would make me sleep on the couch if I got her an Axie of her own (even though I have 5). She usually wants nothing to do with them.

Sorry, confused you with Sludgemonkey! My bad... But the girlfriend - You are still with this crazy person?!! jk :D - my husband isn't really into them either and he doesn't even like my frogs...hmmm...lol

Love it!

ABSOLUTELY!!! :D Best gift EVER!

He is SUPER cute! That pic seems to scream "TA-DA! Here I am!!" lol~! :p

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
