I figured I'd open a new thread, since I have two axies now. I hope that's alright :)

Their substrate is now sand as well (finally found some!)

Beautiful axies! Beautiful photos! Thanks

You know about the Axolotl Calender 2011? ;)

(PS. I like the idea of a 'speech-bubble' added to axie photos.....that could be an amusing thread....anthropomorphism and all that! lol......is it just me or do leucistics remind anyone else of Matt Lucas?)

Don't mind the food on Sek's face. Messy eater indeed.

LOL, I like that picture where Alonzo is by the thermometer.

Love the one where Alonzo is playing hide and seek :)

Thanks everyone, Alonzo loves stuffing himself next to the thermometer... :D

Alonzo enjoys ripping out that purple plant there... "I didn't do it!!!"
Hmm. That's what they all say.

Sek being his brilliant dragon self.

Love the expression on Alonzos face

Some updates on my rascals. They are getting along swimmingly... :)

Sek often tells Alonzo to shut his big mouth. LOL

Alonzo thinks he's a monkey. Sek just thinks he's weird.

Axie kisses are the best!

I really like the way your axolotls look! Alonzo is very pretty, and Sek is just gorgeous!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
