Hello, everybody. This may just be me, but I am convinced that one of my axies is growing little yellow dots all over his body. Any advice? Also, one of my other one's seems to have sunburn on his tail, because it is bright red. Please respond. Thank you!

Also, what are your tank parameters and what is the temp?...the sunburn sounds a little concerning to me.

Like daremo said, pics would definitely help.

The temperature is always around 21 1/2 degrees, and the tank is 30 by 30 by 60 roughly. The axies are white with black eyes. I can't remember what that is called.

Your tank temperature is a bit too warm, is there anywhere cooler that you could move it too ?. Would you know what your water parameters are, especially the reading for ammonia. This may rise faster in warmer water. Would you be able to post a picture of your axolotl? Sometimes with the leucistic axolotl, they 'flush' when they are active.

If they look a bit like freckles then they're pretty normal. I agree with the water temp.
(My water ended up from 19,5 degrees to 15... just because it's getting colder outside. I haven't done a thing)

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
