Nice looking goldens. That first shot looks like your shrimp is about to become lunch! Nothing like an axolotl on the "hunt." ;)

The shrimp has met its fate....after months of eluding..... the axolotl prevails.

LOL sooner or later it was bound to happen RIP Mr Shrimp!

Nice axolotl. Do you only have 1?

hahahaha poor mn shrimp :p
it was destiny for sure but now the question...
what is your axy gonna hunt now? he/she lost a toy ;(

I have 9 axies total, 3 albino 6 gold....more pics to come!
As for the HUNT...they have been "hunting" worms... out my hand!!
I will be finding Mr. Shrimps replacement soon.

This is Casper.

I love the golden one. Poor shrimp, lol. I think he already had several heart attacks after escaping every time. But I think one day..... axie has a nice snack :D

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
