My axy girl

Hi there,
Here is my axy girl wanting to be fed by me, she loves the Java fern. I have her in a 100cm long, 35cm wide by 35cm high tank. I use stones bigger than 2cm and she has a terracotta pot plus also a ceramic log to hide in. Since I took this photo I now have water sprite and java moss in her tank and the java fern has gone as it kept getting pretty dirty. The second photo is of her when I had bogwood in the tank, since got rid of that, as it was getting too dirty. I am at present trying to find a nice adult white female axy to go in with her to give her company.

Hi there,
Her name is Ella. She is a happy and healthy girl and at present I am trying to find another female to go with her. I think it would be good if she had company. Would love to see a picture of your axy girl.

    with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

    Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

    Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
