I did a bit of moving and re-working the tank layout, I also put some new stuff down, mixed with the sand to give a bit pf funkiness!

Result:

And don't worry, they can't swallow the rocks, they are really heavy and big...

Your tank looks really good, with and without the gravel!

Inca's substrate is dreamstones... and they're way to large and heavy for her to move around now. She also has a terracotta pot she hides in and a rock. I'm going to add some plants when I get my funds back up - but she seems happy enough :)

The place I got them from quarantines all their stock, and isolates ill fishies and stuff.

I think there's only one left now!

Plus, I woke up this morning to find pinky in the small tunnel i put in for the shrimp, when I helped her out, she looked ever so confused...LOL

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
