I saw this posted in another forum, and thought there may be some interest here. I have checked with the original poster and he was happy for me to put it here too, hopefully he will join us to let us know more. In the mean time, please pm if you are interested.

Written by an internationally renowned group of authors, including Robert Jehle and Jim Foster (formerly of Natural England), this is fast becoming known as the Bible on GCNs "The Crested Newt; A dwindling pond dweller", retails at £20. It includes sections on biology, habitat and, perhaps most usefully for consultants, conservation and mitigation. PM me if you might be interested. Exclusivey distributed through the BHS.

My dear friend Joost sent me this book and I am still enjoying it.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
