Sounds pretty harsh. Ice bottle method may get you through it. Basement floors are great places when temps are too much. Or you could try blowing a fan on the tanks.
Meanwhile in Scotland, I don't think it's gone above 16C/60F in the past couple of weeks. The slugs are loving the damp, cool summer weather here; it's hard to avoid stepping on them when I go outside.
Glad to hear it! I've been worried about the same thing here in Baltimore. I am having enough trouble as it is even with power keeping everyone cool enough.
I'm glad too. This is one of those worst case scenarios, and this kind of thing can happen anywhere. Massive power failures are MOST likely to occur during the hottest weather, so we all need to have emergency plans in place ahead of time.
Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation
Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
