Hey, this guy was sold to me as a 99% sure male, but I can't really tell. He is 8 inches and has black toes. So what do you guys think? ImageUploadedByTapatalk1362362290.638270.jpg

At this stage I'd say she isn't showing too many signs of being male ;)

lol - it might just take a little more time - but I'm reckoning that guy was lucky he said 99% & not 100%

Hope it turns out male :D lol

My only other male is a gfp melanoid. When I bred him with a gold albino I got 25% gold 25% wild type, 25% gfp gold, 25% gfp wild type. If i breed him with her, what colors will I get?

Depends on what she is recessive for, but you won't know that until you breed them together.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
