Hi, everyone!
My friend sent me several sword-tail newts eggs few days ago.
They are really beautiful.
I feed them with brine shrimp, however i found them float easily.
The temp and density are both not too high.
I don't know why. Do you known the reason?

And these are larvae of Hyno leechii.

Hi there, the larvae of both species look great! You will probably do better with the Cynops larvae (and probably the Hynobius, too) if you keep them in a larger water volume with lots of plants. This will keep water quality more stable and mean you have to do fewer water changes.

I hope you get them through to metamorphosis successfully.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
