Okay so what I found is lower pH can bring on the symptoms ur lil guy is having. Your pH isn’t too too low, but it is lower then recommended so it’s possible having him exposed to a low pH for an extended amount of time has caused him to be really stressed out and stopped eating. Is your tank with the sand still set up and running? And if so, what is the pH in that tank? I’m thinking a filtered tank might be the best for him, but still leave him in the tub until he seems to be improving. Could you send me a picture of the sand and of your little guy? I put my girl on sand when she was still fairly small and it is normally fine if the sand is fine.
if the tank isn’t set up, that’s okay. I would recommend today going and getting an air stone to put in the tub that hes currently in. Creating more aeration in the water can increase pH. You can also add 1 teaspoon of baking soda very slowly for 5 gallons of water to help. I don’t know much about the baking soda thing and I’m not sure how completely safe it is. This might help explain it a little better How to adjust the pH in your aquarium
hey! Don’t blame it on yourself. It happens. Is this your first axie? I’m a newer owner as well if so (I’ve had mine since Oct). I know how scary it can be
if you have the API water test kit, check all the perimeters in the tank. We can check the cycling process with the perimeters. And I’m actually not sure how to upload a pic lololol I thought it would be easier but I tried it myself and now I’m confused! It says to attack a link, I’m not sure how that works
You’re so welcome! Keep a close eye on him and try to offer food a couple times a day. Maybe try some pellets too for a different smell, might get him interested. Keep me updated!
