you have given me a great idea for my tank, are the bricks okay in the water? wont make it mist or effect the newts?

I have bricks in almost all my tanks. The only thing to watch out for is that they need to be "real" bricks, not the kind that are made of cement. Cement bricks might change the pH of the tank water due to the lime content.
