The current in the tank is virtually undetectable, even with the filter on max output. The loofah works great.
With the loofah in place I was able to turn the filter up to its highest setting

Cut out a large enough section that it sits comfortably under the outflow of the filter.
I cut out a section of loofah so that it would fit under the filter
Here is a before picture, I wish I had a way to show the amount of current the thing is producing, it's currently on its lowest setting.
