Tylototriton verrucosus - wildtype and hypomelanoid

What a gorgeous photo! I've never heard of hypomelanistic Tyltotriton of any kind so I was rather surprised to see this. Beautiful animal, but I still prefer the wild type. One day I will have room for some Tylototriton in my home, but right now the girlfriend would kill me.

Tylototriton verrucosus - wildtype and hypomelanoid

It's sad to me actually - the orange one lived with some of his siblings as they grew, but he was always a bit smaller. I had never seen any physical contact but one day I looked in the tank to see the little orange body - one of his legs had been nearly severed high up and I think it was too much for him. Little fella was long dead when I found him. It kind of reminds me of how wildtype axolotls tend to be more aggressive towards non-wildtypes as they grow.
