This year's entries were quite varied and we saw some top quality entries from people new to the competition this year.

I adore this photo. I think it'll be the cover of the calendar. Nice and sharp, and lovely contrast. My only criticism is that the salamander was so close to the edge of the original. I particularly like the soft shadows, and the eye is caught with a little light to give us something to zone in on. Very well done to Wouter.
