Fresh Planting #1

I finally had a little time and added some plants. There are a few bare spots that I will fill in as I see how everyone like their position. I like to let the new plants try out the location before filling in too much. Comments are always welcome.

Thats a nice set up what are you going to put in it?

Ravenous,

This tank will be unfiltered at this time. I do have an access pipe down the back corner that leads to a reservoir but I have ignored it at this time. The manifold works fine, I'm just concerned it will leave the viv too wet. I'll likely do pdf's in this tank and 100% humidity is too high in my opinion. My target is 75-85%. Testing with the drip manifold kept it at 100% all the time.

James,

The shape of the tank is odd. There is a decent ground area but also a good amount o vertical space. I am thinking pdf's but at this time I am not sure.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
