Here is the newest addition to my collection born this week. from the size of the female more are on the way.

Wow, you cb'd them? They look like some kind of Tylototriton! They're pretty cool!

I can't believe how big those babies are!

Great work...those are beautiful sals and it is shocking to see those big, fully developed morphs come out!

Yes is amazing indeed, I am now attempting to video my other gravid female in hopes of making a birth video , the odds are not with me!

Thats what he means, and yes...this ssp is viviparous...they bypass the larvae stage and are born as you see them in the pic. Nice job, Tom!

awesome, I didn't know that there was a fire salamander that bypassed the larvae stage, and gave birth to morphed babies

learn something new everyday!

I was aware of fire sals giving birth to larvae and wondered a while back if any went all the way, I never looked into it, now I know!

James...Yes, this does happen from time to time. Females have also been know to eat their larvae.

One more

Today another one was born, I was not able to catch it on video. But another gravid female I have may get filmed giving birth.

male and new one

Here is the father to my new ones, he is a bold and bright colored male.
The others are last years brood, one is brown very unusal and striking for this species.
