Hi Friends !

Hope all is well and great !

My name is Kush and I'm from India.

Just wanted to request you to kindly id these 2 plants for me. Friends, I've bought these plants for my Vivarium and I've planted them such that the roots and the lower part of the stem are inside water and the plant is above the water level. Kindly guide me if these 2 plants can be grown in this way and will they survive.

Kindly refer this link for the pics - http://www.aquaticplantcentral...indly-id-plant-me.html#post487833

Thanks a lot for your time and for kindly guiding me.
Regards and Care to all,
Kush

Well the first one looks like some kind of Nephthytis to me...they like moist soil and medium light. I can't really determin the second one on that picture.

first one is called syngonium if i recall correctly

Hi Friends !

Thanks a lot for the kind reply and for caring. Can these plants be kept in Water - I mean the roots in the water and the plant above it. Please guide me...

Thanks and Regards
Kush

I think the Syngonium can be grown hydroponically, but if it does well it will quickly outgrow the tank.
Personally i wouldn´t worry about plants that grow aerially....they look nice but they have little to no use for the newts. I would put quite a few more aquatic plants though.

Have you spoke to your friend about maintaining the health of the newts before you obtain them.
i just don't want to have to hear about deaths because you rushed into getting a pet.

Hi there !

Yes, I'm really in no hurry to get them shipped to me. I will wait patiently until they fully recover and start eating well. I was just planning to enhance the tank a little more to give them the best home that I can provide...

Thanks a lot for caring and for all the guidance, Friends...

Kush

btw: Syngonium = Nephthytis ;)

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
