Hey guys! For those who care (lol), I haven't been posting any recent pictures of my axololts lately...well, maybe just Piccolo, but here they are! Piccolo's grown from 6 inches to 7.5 inches and Mowgli's grown from 2 inches to 2.5 inches. Piccolo's a leucistic axolotl and Mowgli's a GFP leucistic axolotl. Hope you guys like them! They look grumpy, but they know they like you guys .

They are both very pretty..love those freckles. Do watch the stones though, they are possibly ok for the moment, but they will be a problem as she gets bigger.

You have some very beautiful axolotls there! I love Piccolo's freckles and I love how big Mowgli's eyes are in comparison to his body!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
