Hey guys I posted a few questions a while ago before I picked him up, he is all settled in to his new tank now and appears to be very happy!
I love him so much and I am a little disillusioned as to believe he really loves me too!!

Well here is Alan (if I uploaded the photos correctly!) these were taken a few weeks ago his gills have grown nice and fluffy and he has grown just over an inch since I got him!

great looking Axie,

Looks like he's got little white pouting lips.

Really digging the wild / melanoid Axies atm.

Sorry its taken so long but here are some pictures from today!

Yeah I was a bit concerned about his funny white lips but I think it is just his colouring. Same with that white spot you can se on his back. there is a similar but a little bigger one lower down on the other side, but I think these are just his colouring, too, they aren't fluffy or anything, just pale blobs! is this normal?

He is rather satisfied in the pictures after his big juicy earthworm lunch!

He looks much happier now. :D

yeah he is doing very well, I don't think he was cared for as he should have been in the place I got him (reptile and amphibian shop) he was on gravel, in a very bare little tank with about four others with him. and when i went to pick him up he had goldfish in with him!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
