Just wondering. I found two today on the kids Sun Flowers while watering and decided to toss them in my terrarium to catch up on some of the bugs that been developing in it.

Are they interesting in anyway to watch? This tank is huge and I can barely find them but when we do the kids think its like the most amazing thing.

Are they prolific in captivity?

If I get lucky enough I'll toss up some pics.

EDIT: I snapped a few of one of the Peepers.

I caught one as a child and kept it for all of four ten... until his shrill call kept me up at three in the morning. They are absolutely beautiful, and quite loud.

Sorry that I don't have more helpful experience to contribute.
(And fingers crossed that the ones you've found are all female. ;))

Im not sure if i wanna keep them. I just wanted to do something with them till the landscaping crew passed by for the month. We get those HOA hired crews that maintenance the entire development and dont really take any thought into what they do or what they spray.

Probably just gunna relocate them where I know others exist later in the week. But, I do find it interestingto observe them. They are pretty active.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
