Hi guys,

Ok so yesterday someone was saying something about feeding axies out or a jar/glass so i thought id give it a try :D

Here are some pics:

1. Lips and coral cant decide who should test the glass first.....
2. So they decided they would risk it together!
3. Then Lips changed her mind haha
4. Coral wasnt willing to try by her self...
5. So she backed out taking the blood worm with her...
6. After much fuss they attempt to investigate an empy glass!

This is there first time feeding in a glass it was fun to watch

Haha! So that was all worth it then *sigh* ;)

They are so funny. Cute photos :)

im starting to think coral just loves the glass she gets out and back in again shes still sitting in it now haha

such cute and funny little things

So cute :D but it doesn't look like it reduced the mess! Fun to watch though, I may have to try it :)

They do seem to like tight spaces (although that glass is transparent!), ours will usually take whatever route round the tank means they have to clamber over things and squeeze through tiny gaps! Weirdos.

yea i agree and there so dopy they walk in to everthing lol

btw would you happen to know how big a baby axie is when it hatches i have a tank of about 100 axie eggs one seems to be out of its egg iv mesured it (luckily it close to the glass) its about half an inch is thats right?

sounds about right - around 10mm is the norm I think

ok so il keep an eye on them now they are such tiny little things so cute most of them are moving around inside there eggs every few mins so i dare say it wont be long :D

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
