Hatchlings

Do you think there is a major advantage using a walstad style tank as opposed to a bare bottom tank, as it increases hiding places for both food and larvae? I am assuming it must be a big advantage for them.
It definetely is! Own experience.

Anything small enough for them to eat will be good - chopped earthworms, tiny woodlice, fruit flies, lesser wax worms, micro crickets, blood worms, tubifex....
I have good experience with chopped earthworms, left on a piece of damp tissue.

There is a major advantage to this style the micro organism reproduce alot so there was endless food for the larvae in the beginning stages of their development, i litterally could see the micro organisms in the tank. i switched to using bamboo plants because they survive in any enviroment. i had many plant failures with this tank. i did a poor job at setting up the tank tank the first time - eventually im going to re do it and use my moms house plants because they do well underwater if you use the stocking method i found this on a thread by a member - it works great in my bare bottom P. Waltl tank.

They are switching between water and trying to be on land.

some of them still have gils that arent fully gone they are barely visibly should i keep them in the semi aquatic or is it ok to move them to the full terrestrial?

Wait to move them until their gills are gone. They'll let you know when they don't want to be housed semi-aquatically.

Bloodworms on 3rd photo look terribly rotten! I advice removing them right away.

Ive been trying to feed them fruit flies but it hasnt been succesfully any tips on how to get them to eat fruit flies?

Fruitflies are a bit fast for newly morphed juveniles. Try springtails, they are like the manageable version. Once they have completed the process and they have more control over their tongues and bodies, they´ll be able to eat fruitflies, you´ll see.

Ok springtails it is

I have no idea how to get a hold of springtails none of the petstores even know what they are and i cant find anyone that sells microcrickets im worried the newly morphed newts arent gonna make it because they show no intreset in food. im housing them in a full terestrial plastic bin setup. Do you think they could eat crested gecko food the water supplement or whatever it is they feed them it comes in a pouch and you stir with water and they eat it. Also any good sites that sell springtails for reasonable price?

When mine were that little they loved aphids, they picked them off the plant like grapes. Were your fruitflies wingless, petshops quite often sell them and they cant get away as fast. I also used a little leaf roller caterpillar that was throughout the garden. Now that they are more terrestrial would they be more likely to eat the whiteworms?

I didn't even think about white worms. I have to find someone that cultures them, I didn't know they were found on land. I thought they were a terestrial worm, like black worms.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
