Nice! Can you only see the GFP's glow with a black light?

yea iv noticed mine glow kinda with a blue and purple led light on black sand..very adorable
 
Australia is very strict on all sorts of creatures :p They are in the EU too. They glow as a result of gene splicing and the GFP being injected into them so that's why they are illegal in the EU I think. Probably the same for Aus? :)
 
Gosh, that's crazy. Do they just want to ensure that they don't breed?

Lol.. it just seems like such a silly thing to be illegal for.. Ya know?
 
i haven't even really seen Matti Glow yet, i don't have a black light yet so he just looks a little greener then Pixie

Are axolotls with GFP really elusive ??? or does all color mutants glow ??? considering they have been genetically altered

I'm not sure I understand what you mean? Are they hard to find from breeders? No, as long as you're in the US. Are they shy? No moreso than other axies. GFP axolotls are the only 'morph' (used loosely, as GFP can be applied independently of all other mutations) that fluoresce, and that's only under UV light. They don't actually 'glow'.

    Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation
