:D Few pics of the new additions, and a few questions....

This is Moomin. He/she is the biggest and greediest. He is also the sweetest and friendliest.

Now to the questions.....

Moomin is much younger than Fraggle but also way larger. In length they're roughly the same, but Fraggle is much more delicate. Her face and whole 'shape' is smaller. I thought that I might have to separate them at first but neither has shown any sign of aggression and they seem fine together. My question is this. Is she likely to catch Moomin up? She was hatched in Dec whereas Moomin was hatched in April. Is she just so small because she didn't get enough to eat? She doesn't really seem skinny, just little. Or is she a dwarf axy? If there is such a thing???
Also I'm not sure how clear it is in the photo but she sits in the most odd position. Kind of resting on her belly with her back feet wafting around in the water. And occasionally she chases her tail (I've read that this can be caused by parasites but I can't see any sign.) I do adore her, she's a funny little thing but dare I ask? Is it possible that in addition to being a dwarf she's also a little :eek: retarded???

Thanks :D

They are very lovely and both of them look happy in their tank!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
