You are right, and it certainly had toes at one point. I had it in a tank with one of its siblings a while ago and suspect it lost them then. The feet are slowly regrowing and I can just about see toes now, but its taken a long time.

The limbs look like they're too small for the animal.
Maybe it can't regrow the missing toes/legs like a normal newt, I wonder if it's a side effect of the neoteny ?
I am not sure what is going on with the feet and legs. Out of all the other juveniles I have raised I have never had one loose all its feet like this one has. It has very tiny toes on some feet, but they do not seem to be growing any bigger.

Haha I've never seen a neotenic tylotriton of any sort before i wonder if being golden caused this. Also I'm the legs are small because its neotenic my axolotl has little legs and they are neotenic

I decided it was time to see how many juveniles were left, in the process of fishing them out I realised their tank needed a good clean. I was feeling quite pleased afterwards and decided to take some photo's of the golden one...When I came to view them I realised I had forgotten to do the glass

Thorninmyside:Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation+1
